Books-A-Million
print, web, social, art direction, illustration, production, photography, and more!
I designed for all four brands: Books-A-Million, Joe Muggs, Yogurt Mountain, and 2nd & Charles.
When I began working for BAM, I worked on print design, primarily. After 2020, our online sales skyrocketed and I was moved into a digital design role where website banners, digital ads, and emails encompassed most of my work. I also designed fun animations and worked across all company departments to ensure our message resonated across all channels. If you were on Books-a-Million’s email list, you saw my email designs daily! I also have experience in social media design and love working with the ever-changing world of the web.
Books-A-Million Print Design
Art direction, packaging design, photography, editorial design, production, photo editing, and more!
I have physical examples of most of my printed work, but most of it included working with the merchandising team to design proprietary art for merchandise in our stores. This included wall art, journals and notebooks, mugs, packaging for eye masks and other self-care items, bookmarks, and Yogurt Mountain holiday 2019 cups. I also designed posters, register mats, Joe Muggs digital and printed menu boards, flyers and brochures, and several spreads for our 2019 Holiday Gift Guide.
I worked to art direct several Joe Muggs photoshoots, as well as art directed many photos and photoshoots for our holiday editorial pieces.

Website Banners & Ads
Working on very tight deadlines, I designed several different sizes of banners for our website. The banners changed daily, and keeping the design consistent on our website while other promotions run simultaneously was a welcomed challenge.
Website banner animations
Most projects begin with a concept from our CEO or my supervisor, and it is up to me to make sure all banners are consistent throughout the website and home page especially.
Once I began designing website banners, I brought my knowledge of motion graphics to add a bit of movement to our website. These have helped add movement, and raised customer engagement on the website, as well as email and social.

Seasonal Branding / campaigning
Throughout the year, several promotional “seasons” happen, and I truly enjoy when I am able to design a full package for these. They run for several weeks, so It’s important to keep the designs consistent, while also keeping the customer interested and making sure the design doesn’t get overused.
Several campaigns run throughout the year, some simultaneously, and it’s up to me to work with the upper levels of leadership at BAM to bring their idea into reality.
